Alan Ampudia and Toyo Tires® Win the 37th SCORE San Felipe 250

SAN FELIPE, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO – Alan Ampudia and Toyo Tires® took the overall win at the 37th SCORE San Felipe 250 over the weekend. Starting with an amazing victory in the first race of the season, this win puts Ampudia at the top of the 2024 SCORE World Desert Championship with the Baja 500 next on the schedule. In addition, Tavo Vildósola placed third overall and Gustavo Vildósola Sr. took first in the SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class recording back-to-back wins at the San Felipe 250.

To recap the weekend of racing, Ampudia and his #10 Monster Energy / Toyo Tires AWD Mason Motorsports Ford Raptor put on an impressive drive at Thursday’s qualifying, securing the pole position for the Unlimited Trophy Truck class. The race started on the El Malecon on the Sea of Cortez in La Paz, Baja California Sur where competitors embarked on the 285.62 mile course. Ampudia’s drive clocked in with an official time of 4 hours, 2 minutes, 20.708 seconds. With an average speed of 70.73 mph, he recorded the fastest winning time in San Felipe 250 race history, relying on the championship-winning Toyo Open Country® M/T-R tires to get him to the finish line.

“Our team is excited to start the 2024 SCORE race season in the winner’s circle,” said Alan Ampudia. “This win is extra special for us, our first overall win of the San Felipe 250. Thanks to my Toyo Tires, they were hooked up all day, giving me that extra edge for the win and we can’t wait to do it again at the Baja 500!”

“This is an incredible start for Team Toyo with our drivers putting on a clinical display of racing in the early stages of the year,” said Stan Chen, senior manager, events, sponsorships and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A.
